Pokerstars is one of the most well known poker rooms today and dominates as one of the top three poker sites worldwide. Even though they no longer accept US players, they still remain a household name in online poker. Their professional players also add to their popularity and entice new players to the game, while encouraging current players to try their luck playing against the pros.
Player Traffic 9/10
PokerStars may have been forced out of the US, but that has not greatly diminished their traffic levels. This still remains one of the biggest poker sites online. While the peak playing times definitely reflect the mostly European player base, the sheer size of this site guarantees that no matter what time you get online, there will be a table for you to play at. The softest play will of course be during the most popular time slots when it is easy to find over 100,000 players online. However, these weaker tables can be harder to find at times of lower traffic.
Quality of Players 8.5/10
PokerStars is known for their sponsored professionals, and some of the selling points of their tournaments are the chance to play against the pros. This draws in some of the most aggressive and experienced players around. PokerStars is not perhaps the place to go if you're looking for fish to pick off. Serious grinders can be found on tables with stakes as low as $1/$2, although tournament play does tend to be softer than the ring games. However, high level tournaments draw in the professionals and players of the highest caliber, especially on the satellite games.

Your table can be easily personalized using themes, and players can upload a tiny avatar photo which is quick and easy to change. There are also a number of different tools to make playing convenient and easy. There is an excellent search and filtering system, with new features added in regularly. The software is further enhanced by the safety and security offered by PokerStars. With independent verifications, frequent security updates and a dedication to fair play, PokerStars staff make this a very pleasant place to play poker.

Pokerstars has a huge selection of promotions. Their VIP points system is generous, although it can take time for new or inexperienced players to earn the points required to climb the ranks up to the best reward levels. The highest VIP levels are very coveted and are typically held only by players who spend a significant amount of time on the site. PokerStars points can also be cashed in for all the typical rewards: cash, tournament entries, gifts and merchandise. There are also plenty of freerolls and many chances to win seats to big live events through cheap satellites.

PokerStars support can be accessed directly through their software, although most of your contact is going to be email based. This limited range of options for support has is one of the biggest complaints about Poker Stars. Their support staff are available 24/7 and have access to extensive records to help them resolve any issues you may run into. PokerStars does boast a very quick response time to emails, and their customer service staff is top notch and knowledgeable.
